The founder of Consolidated Investment Group (CIG), David Merage, is engaged with his family in a multitude of philanthropic initiatives through the Merage Foundations, a consortium of private foundations representing three generations of the David and Laura Merage family.
The Merage Foundation’s mission is to support charitable organizations that promote self-sufficiency through education and community development. It invests in and takes risks with innovative social entrepreneurs in the United States and Israel and focuses its philanthropic investments on societal changes that improve the quality of life for children, families, and communities. The Foundation upholds a culture of excellence in which the creative implementation of business models provides unsurpassed outcomes and high impact.
The Foundation’s primary focus in the U.S. is the early care and education of children from birth to 5 years old. The Foundation sees education as the gateway to optimal life outcomes, and the majority of its initiatives are tied to increasing educational opportunities.

In addition to these charitable efforts, CIG’s founder is involved in a venture philanthropy initiative to increase access to quality early care and education (ECE) for all children.
This initiative, called Early Learning Ventures, focuses on bringing Colorado’s ECE sector to scale through comprehensive innovations, policies, and incentives that are market-oriented, include parent involvement, and have measurable impact. Early Learning Ventures is taking the lead to accelerate ECE quality improvements, increase operational effectiveness, and support the momentum for broader ECE industry reform.

In Israel, the Merage Israel Foundation’s primary emphasis is on the Negev region, where it supports regional development through a series of entrepreneurial and business development projects, educational and cultural programs, infrastructure investments, and tourism promotion. The Foundation also invests in organizations that support new immigrants and their successful transition to a new life in Israel.
