Ed Kolczynski
CIO – Chief Investment Officer

Ed is responsible for the management, strategy, and asset allocation of CIG’s capital market investments portfolio, where he oversees the management of the public equities, hedge fund, and private equity portfolios. Ed has more than 20 years of experience working in investment companies in leadership roles as well as portfolio management and research and analysis. Ed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and earned his MBA. He is also a CFA charter holder and is an inactive CPA.

Mireya Garing
Vice President of Human Resources

Mireya oversees the human resources division at CIG, and she also serves as an internal business advisor to the company’s management team and associates. Mireya has more than 30 years of experience in human resource management, is bilingual in both Spanish and English, and holds a B.A degree in psychology. Mireya previously worked for both Nestle and Chef America in human resource roles, and is a member of Colorado EPIC (Executives Partnering to Invest in Children), SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) and CHRA (Colorado Human Resource Association).

Rebecca O'Hearn
Sr. Accounting & Finance Advisor

Rebecca oversees all of CIG’s financial and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, general accounting, and legal. Additionally, she assumes responsibility for establishing financials policies, procedures, and reporting systems as well as managing the Aviation and Information Technology Departments. Rebecca has 10 years of experience in public accounting in addition to more than 20 years of experience in managing accounting functions for multiple business units. Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Taxation, and is a CPA. Rebecca is a member of The Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Robert Nelson
Vice President

Rob is a Vice President on the Executive Leadership Team and a member of the Chairman’s Advisory Team. In his current role, Rob works cross-functionally with all Division Managers and assists with annual goal setting and department Incentive programs. Rob has more than 30 years of experience leading teams, guiding strategy, and growing businesses, including his roles as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Chef America and then Nestle’s Handheld Food Group, where he provided strategic direction for the development and management of $200 million of core business.

Sabrina Naim
Vice President, Corporate Strategy

Sabrina directs CIG on strategic growth, culture, and business planning. In this role, she collaborates with the CIG executive team to lead the overall direction and operations of the company. Sabrina was previously the Deal Sourcing Manager for the Private Equity Direct Investment Division of CIG, making direct investments and acquisitions in food and beverage companies. Sabrina is also Principal of Echo Capital Group, a sister company to CIG, which makes growth equity investments and provides strategic leadership for young companies in the consumer products space. Sabrina also runs the Sabrina Merage Foundation, which exists to build bridges between diverse societies, ultimately leading to a more peaceful world. She has been invited to speak at conferences all over the country for family members and advisors alike, and has been featured in magazines and business articles for her work in the corporate and philanthropic arenas.

Sue Renner
Vice President of Philanthropy

Sue provides strategic direction and leadership for the Merage Foundations, a consortium of seven grant-making and operating foundations representing three generations of David & Laura Merage’s family.  Sue is an experienced nonprofit innovator with a track record of leading numerous successful start-up ventures.  As a social entrepreneur, Sue works to catalyze the Merage Foundations’ philanthropic capital—financial, intellectual, and human—to solve pressing social problems. While providing direction across the Merage Foundations’ social impact fields, Sue has vast Early Childhood Development expertise, and engages in a myriad of leadership roles with regional and national early care and education organizations.

Tim Bertoch
Vice President, Real Estate

Tim’s responsibilities include overseeing all real estate investments for CIG, including all real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, and dispositions. Tim has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate investment industry, including land acquisition, real estate development, construction management, asset management, and financial management responsibilities. He has been with CIG since its founding and is a member of the company’s executive investment committee. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and is actively involved in his community through volunteer service in the Boy Scouts of America and other youth leadership programs.
