Epic Book Drive

EPIC – Executives Partnering to Invest in Children – was created to “harness the capital of Colorado’s business sector to ensure that all children develop into healthy, educated and productive citizens.”  This unique group of dedicated staff and business leaders work to increase investments in early childhood education and create meaningful changes to benefit the younger Coloradan population.  Their idea is simple; empower the youth of today to ensure a better tomorrow.

One of the tangible ways EPIC impacts its community is through the Colorado Business Reads Book Drive.  This year, EPIC set out to procure 100,000 new or gently used books in 2015 to be distributed to nonprofits, childcare centers, Doctors offices, etc. throughout the state.  By making reading material available to young children throughout Colorado, EPIC has encouraged positive interaction between children and adults through the medium of books.

David Merage – CIG’s CEO and one of the founding members of EPIC – and many of his Executive Management Team – who are also EPIC members – have encouraged CIG associates to participate since its inception.  This year, CIG alone collected 652 books for the cause.  Early Learning Ventures (ELV) secured 5,000 books and produced a volunteer event to distribute these to child care providers throughout the Denver Metro Area.  Thanks to all who participated!
